What is a CRO Audit?

A CRO audit is a systematic analysis of your website, mostly conducted to find out opportunities to increase the percentage of visitors who take desired actions.

Unlike basic analytics reviews, a CRO audit examines user behavior, page elements, conversion funnels, and other technical factors that have a direct impact on your conversion rates.

The audit process will measure multiple aspects of your website, including user experience, content effectiveness, visual design, navigation paths, and technical performance. It pays attention to metrics like bounce rates, exit pages, time on site, and user flow to identify where visitors struggle or abandon their journey.

With the data given by an audit, you identify the specific barriers that are preventing users from converting.

Why Should You Conduct A CRO Audit?

Every website, no matter how good its performing currently, has untapped conversion potential.

A CRO audit is basically the fastest way to get to these opportunities and turn more visitors into customers. While analytics will tell you what's happening on your site, a CRO audit tells why it's happening and what can you do about it.

Here’s why reasons your website needs a CRO audit:

To identify revenue leaks

CRO Audits will help you understand where potential customers drop off in your conversion funnel. These tests

To help you make better decisions

Instead of relying on gut feelings or following generic best practices, a CRO audit gives you concrete data about your specific audience and their behavior.

This data lets you make decisions based on actual user interactions rather than assumptions, so that your optimization efforts focus on changes that will deliver real results

To stay a step ahead of your competition

We bet that your competitors are constantly optimizing their websites. You too join the race with a CRO audit. It helps you

To improve your marketing ROI

Even if you’re keeping up with your competition, driving traffic to your website in itself is expensive. A CRO audit helps you make the most of this investment. How? It improving conversion rates (provided you take action afterwards!) without increasing traffic costs.

An audit will also likely identify which traffic sources convert best and help you optimize your landing pages for specific audience segments.

Step 3: Provide context for your site

Now comes the core of the process: you tell us about your website. We'll guide you through a series of six thoughtful questions about your site's purpose, benefits, and target audience.

These questions help us understand what makes your website unique. What challenges do your customers face? What sets you apart from competitors?

These insights are very important for creating meaningful optimization recommendations.

Step 4: Tell us about your audience

The tool needs to know about your audience for it to be able to do detailed audience segmentation. You’ll get a set of audience segments based on the site you enter for the audit.

Choose the most appropriate option.

Step 5: Provide data for competitor analysis

Details of your immediate competitors are necessary so that the tool can churn out more accurate results. It also helps with competitive benchmarks and influences differentiation strategies.

Based on your industry, you’ll see some pre-populated options. In addition to that, you can input your own list of competitors.

In the next screen, you can share any concerns your visitors might have.

Step 6: Share ad context

If you're running ads, we'll want to hear about them too. This helps the tool ensure that the optimization suggestions are in line with your marketing message.

Here, you share data about keywords targeting, ad headlines, and ad descriptions.

Step 7: Get your results

After the 6 questions are answered, wait a minute or two and you will get a detailed analysis that will tell you your site's potential conversion rate uplift in a percentage.

Beyond just the number, you will also get clear, actionable recommendations prioritized by impact. Each suggestion comes with practical implementation guidance, so you'll know exactly what to do next.
